The Chinese 7th month is from Aug 13th to Sep 10th. Apart from being the ghost month, it is a month that will be plagued with natural disasters and freak accidents. In the global context during the period from Aug 13th to 27th, there is a strong indication that there will be armed conflicts to expand territories and also conflicts to intimidate others. This implies that there will be terrorist attacks and wars breaking out and the possibility of earthquakes, severe flooding and volcanic eruptions among others. We can see that there are both natural calamities and man-made problems brewing now and these may erupt fully during this period. Due to this, I strongly advise to avoid traveling, especially to war zones, demonstration filled areas, places prone to natural disasters (including South East Asia).
What does it mean at the personal level to us during the period from Aug 13th to 27th? Most of us will be wearing an over-sized ego. “Self-centered” is the word. It’s all about personal gains, looking to impose power over others, being manipulative, yearning for recognition. It is all about us. If you are in a highly political environment, tensions and conflicts will definitely increase when everybody is trying to bull doze each other to gain recognition and credit. Being subtle is important during this period. I am not referring to being easily bullied or to be cornered by people who mean harm, but to be able to keep your aggressiveness under wraps. People usually tend not to remember how much you contribute to the company or to the department, but they will remember how aggressive or strong behavior you have demonstrated. During this period, avoid gossip, going around complaining about bosses to other colleagues or even to other authority figures. This is the period for you to utilize your emotional intelligence and political skills. When someone tries to antagonize you, you can quietly start saying Ohmmm for 2minutes and face the beast again with a new perspective.
During this period, we will be more sensitive to our own appearance. We might get a new hair cut, spend more time in the gym, spend a fortune on new shoes, new suits, handbags or brief cases etc. It is natural to spend more time or money on improving our image or to create a new one. Enjoy beautifying oneself!
In the same period, our creativity is rather strong and we will be given the ability to multi-task. If you have projects that require your creativity, for example designing a building, garden, drawing a mind bursting system flow chart or painting a picture, this is the time to embark or complete it.
